The Punjab government has completed the digital balloting process for 2,000 free residential plots under the “Apni Zameen Apna Ghar” (Own Land, Own Home) initiative, launched on the directions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
Punjab Housing Minister Bilal Yaseen formally initiated the draw, after which successful applicants from 19 districts were issued details of their allotted plot numbers, sizes, and blocks.

District-Wise Distribution
In the first phase, beneficiaries include residents from districts such as:
-
Jhelum (730 plots)
-
Kasur (388 plots)
-
Along with Faisalabad, Lodhran, Okara, and 14 other districts
The scheme targets low-income and homeless families, including street vendors, shopkeepers, mechanics, and daily wage earners. Successful applicants will receive full ownership rights without paying any registration or hidden fees.
Allotment Letters and Construction Support
According to the housing minister, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will personally distribute the official allotment letters to selected beneficiaries in the coming days.
Beyond plot allocation, the Punjab government will also assist families in constructing their homes. Under the related “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” (Own Roof, Own Home) initiative, beneficiaries will be eligible for interest-free loans to build their houses.
Officials confirmed that loan repayments will be structured in easy monthly installments, ensuring minimal financial burden on low-income households.
No Hidden Charges
Bilal Yaseen emphasized that the plots are being provided completely free of cost, with no hidden charges or additional fees. He described the initiative as a practical step toward helping underprivileged citizens secure permanent housing rather than relying on symbolic announcements.
The program is part of Punjab’s broader housing policy aimed at expanding access to land ownership and improving living standards for economically vulnerable communities.
