The Excise and Taxation Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has successfully completed the auction of 11 high-demand vehicle number plates in Peshawar, generating total revenue of Rs. 5.81 crore.
The highest bid was secured for the number plate Wazir-1, which fetched Rs. 1.5 crore, followed by Afridi-1 at Rs. 1.40 crore and Khan-1 at Rs. 1.11 crore. The popular Peshawar-1 plate sold for Rs. 1 crore.

The base price for all plates had been set at Rs. 10 lakh. The Excise and Taxation Department clarified that plates linked to former Prime Minister Imran Khan, specifically “Imran Khan-1” and “Imran Khan-804”, were not included in this auction round.
High-Demand Plates Reflect Collector and Investor Interest
Officials noted that auctions of unique vehicle number plates have become increasingly popular among collectors and investors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Plates featuring short names, prominent surnames, or city names typically attract significant bids, highlighting both prestige and status in the region.
The revenue generated from these auctions will be used for development projects and provincial initiatives, according to the Excise and Taxation Department.
