Shehbaz Sharif stated that the arrival of Ramadan is a time when Muslims share their blessings with those in need, and the government has taken steps to ensure that assistance reaches deserving households in a transparent manner.

He emphasized that the previous system of distributing relief through utility stores has been discontinued due to inefficiencies and complaints regarding the availability and management of essential goods. Instead, the government will rely on a digital distribution mechanism, which was also used last year to transfer funds directly to beneficiaries.

The prime minister added that more than 2.1 million families who are not part of any existing welfare or Kafalat program will also receive support under this package. Funds will be distributed across all four provinces, as well as in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, through a structured and transparent process.

He acknowledged that implementing the digital system involved several operational challenges, but said the government successfully made the mechanism fully functional to ensure smooth and accountable disbursement.
