Request to Move Matches

The Bangladesh Cricket Board has formally requested the ICC to relocate all Bangladesh matches scheduled in India to Sri Lanka, the tournament’s co-host.

This request follows the controversial removal of Mustafizur Rahman from the IPL by Kolkata Knight Riders on instructions from the BCCI, which heightened concerns over player safety in India. The BCB is seeking formal assurances from the ICC before committing fully to the current schedule.

Impact on Bangladesh’s Preparation

The uncertainty surrounding the venues adds an extra layer of challenge to Bangladesh’s World Cup preparations. The team must plan logistics, training, and strategy while awaiting the ICC’s decision on venue relocation.
